A further two security officers in the vehicle were injured.

A security officer died in an accident on the Watson Highway, near the N2 on-ramp early this morning, reports the North Coast Courier.

“A taxi and a security vehicle crashed. Another two security officers were critically injured and paramedics used Advanced Life Support to save their lives,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst.

“The patients were transported to a local hospital.”

Two people in the taxi suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.

Herbst said morning traffic was severely backed up.
