It’s believed the driver thought the vehicle was in reverse gear when the accident occurred.

A man was lucky to escape injury after he crashed his Land Rover Freelander through the front of an Umhlanga Rocks Drive restaurant, Northglen News reports.

The incident occurred at the restaurant, Some Like It Hot, confirmed Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

“The vehicle crashed through the front of the property taking out the entrance and a pane of glass. One staff member sustained moderate injuries. The authorities are on scene and the injured are being treated by paramedics,” he said.

It’s believed the driver thought he was in reverse gear when the accident occurred.
