The four celebrities were unimpressed at how the silent protesters were treated.

In reaction to the protest held by student activists at the IEC results centre on Friday night, Maps Maponyane, Azania Mosaka, Boity Thulo and Rosie Motene tweeted their disappointment, disgust and shock at the way female protestors were handled after president Jacob Zuma’s address.

Boity was upset at the way security shoved, pushed and grabbed at the women.

Radio 702 talk show host Azania noted that it was time to start making perpetrators of rape culture feel uninvited in society and uncomfortable. She also applauded the activists for their bravery.

Actress Nambitha Mpulwana tweeted how unsafe women feel.

TV presenter Maps Maponyane was appalled at how disrespected the activists were.

Gender activist and actress Rosie Motene responded to his tweet.
