Carl comments on Pistorius hospital scare

He said that the former Paralympic athlete had slipped in his prison cell but that it was not serious.

The brother of murder-convicted Oscar Pistorius, Carl, confirmed on Sunday afternoon on his social media account that his brother was doing well under the circumstances.

According t0 Rekord East, Carl reiterated on his Twitter account that media reports claiming Oscar had injured himself were untrue and sensational.

“I know there are reports saying that he had tried to injure himself – they are completely untrue and sensational. All other crazy and unreliable news stories are also baseless,” Carl said in his tweet.

He added that the former Paralympic athlete had slipped in his prison cell but that it was not serious.

“Please do not believe the media reports. It was great to see him. He sends love to everyone, especially Aimee,” Carl tweeted.

Social media was abuzz on Sunday after City Press reported that Oscar had sustained injuries to his wrists. According to reports, correctional service authorities found blades in his prison cell.

It was reported that Oscar was rushed to Kalafong hospital for medical assistance and later transported back to Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre.
