The officers moved swiftly while still on their way to work when they heard about a housebreaking.

Bothasig police in Cape Town moved quickly to arrest two housebreaking suspects in Richwood, Cape Town, on Friday, Western Cape police said.

Two officers were en route to the SA Police Service in Parow when they received information about a housebreaking in progress in Richwood Drive, Richwood, Captain FC van Wyk said.

“Upon arrival at the scene, they noticed the garage door at the private residence was forced open and was slightly ajar. The complainant also indicated to them that the suspects were still inside the garage. Upon entering the garage, the members identified one of the perpetrators as an accused in another housebreaking charge.”

The perpetrators fled the scene, but were arrested shortly thereafter. The two, aged 18 and 19, would appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Van Wyk said.
