Possibly the most popular All Black player around, Sonny Bill Williams, is at the Olympics with the New Zealand Sevens team.
He’s been taking snaps with all the athletes and was only too pleased to bump into South African 400m golden boy Wayde van Niekerk on Thursday. He wished the world champion good luck, called him his brother and said he was such “a humble dude”.

Williams used to be a bit of a bad boy until he converted to Islam. Now he’s simply the nicest man in the world. He made international headlines last year at the rugby World Cup when he handed a young fan his winner’s medal minutes after receiving it himself. The team campaigned for Williams to receive another medal, which he duly did.
He celebrated his birthday this week in the Olympic city of Rio de Janeiro.
Van Niekerk has been doing some tweets of his own ahead of the Olympic opening ceremony on Friday night.

He even tweeted this picture of himself standing next to a massive photograph of himself.
