Police have once again warned the community to keep their valuables safe and secured after a laptop was “fished” out of a Glenhills home in Durban.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the suspects used a pole or broom to steal the electronic device from a home in Hydrangea Place after they smashed open a window, Northglen News reported.

“What we see often is opportunistic criminals taking advantage of laptops being left in plain sight,” he said.

Van Reenen urged the community to store their devices when they are not in use.
