Brazil’s Under-23 squad will face South Africa in their opening match of the Rio Olympic Games and the Selecao have never won the men’s football Olympic gold. With this tournament on home soil, they will be hoping to reverse their fortunes.
Khune believes that the South African team need to focus on their strengths and not on the quality that is in the team they are set to face on Thursday.
“We are expecting a good team, it’s our duty to go to that match and play our normal match, and we must not worry too much about Brazil,” Khune told SABC Sports. “We are not here to add numbers, we must earn our respect, we want to get out of the group stages so we need to finish on seven points.”
