An election coordinator died suddenly on Wednesday while manning the ANC information table at the voting station in Ulundi, a town in the Zululand District Municipality, reports Zululand Observer.
According to preliminary reports, Amon Khumalo succumbed when he collapsed while going about his work.
Khumalo, who was a voting district coordinator, was certified dead on arrival at hospital.
“The ANC sends its deepest condolences to this fallen soldier who died with his boots on contributing to the entrenchment of our democracy and breathing life to the notion that people must govern in every community,” said ANC provincial secretary Super Zuma.
