Pirates and Sundowns will participate in the Dr Hage Geingob Cup in Namibia this Saturday, where the local rivals will clash in the semifinals of the pre-season tournament which features Tigers FC and African Stars.
“We have a game in Namibia, Dr Hage Geingob, the president of Namibia cup. It is our third year we play. We have won it twice, and we would like to win it for a third time and keep the trophy,” said Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane.
Pirates go into the tournament with their pride wounded after suffering a 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Cup this past Saturday, and the former Bafana Bafana coach says it will be a showdown, following their new recruits.
“They have really strengthened the team, from the goalkeeper coach, to head coach and even the physical trainer … it is a revamped team. They have made a big overhaul in terms of personnel, players coming in. So it will be a big game against Pirates.”
“We know it is going to be difficult, we have to play Bangaly Soumahoro, Ricardo Nascimento, Lucky Mohomi, Vilakazi, and the other guys that have not been playing,” added the former SuperSport United mentor.
