Former South African Football Association (Safa) president Molefi Oliphant believes Mamelodi Sundowns will win the Caf Champions League.

The Brazilians have booked a spot in the semi-finals of the continental competition after topping Group B with nine points.

“Sundowns will win it because every player has the heart of a lion. They have shown incredible hunger and team spirit,” Oliphant told Daily Sun.

“The mere fact they went to Algeria and beat their champions (ES Setif) 2-0 was a magnificent achievement. Then they went on to beat Zamalek in Cairo and in Tshwane.

“That is unbelievable. Pitso has to be given a lot of credit for the way he has led and coached Sundowns.”

Sundowns could play Zesco United or Wydad Casablanca in the semi-final. The teams are currently tied on seven points at the top.
