The suspect entered the hotel at about 7pm and appeared to be looking for someone specific.

Two men were hospitalised after being shot by a gunman at the Boksburg North Hotel on the East Rand on Monday, August 1, Boksburg Advertiser reports.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Captain Juanita Coetzer, the suspect entered the hotel at about 7pm before the shooting and appeared to be looking for someone specific.

“He did not find the person he was looking for and left,” said Coetzer.

A short while later the two victims arrived at the hotel to play pool.

“Suddenly the suspect appeared in the doorway and fired directly at the two victims, and fled the scene,” said Coetzer.

One of the men was critically injured and the other one only slightly. Both victims left the scene to seek medical assistance at Tambo Memorial Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.
