Former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund is reportedly eyeing a move to Zambia to take over their national team.

Zambia-who spot to continental football prominence after winning the Caf Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 have been struggling since the departure of Herve Renard.

“Gordon wants that job. He has always wanted to prove himself at national team level, and the Bafana job whetted his appetite for international football. He sees the chance to coach Zambia as a huge stepping stone to relaunch his international career,” said a source.

Igesund was fired by Bafana after disastrous stint that saw his fail to get the team to the semifinals of Afcon in 2013.

He was also once shortlisted for Ghana job, but didn’t make the cut as Avram Grant was appointed ahead of him.
