Keagan Dolly left for Rio this week after playing a role in Mamelodi Sundowns’ qualification for the semifinals of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.

The 23-year-old has been in high demand lately, featuring for the senior national team and the national Under-23 side, where he leads as captain.

The star midfielder says he is excited to be reunited with AmaGlug-Glug.

“I am really excited‚ I have missed out quite a few camps with the Under-23s and I feel like I am quite behind with the preparations. I am excited to join the team now with a few more days to go before the tournament starts. I cannot wait to rub shoulders with Neymar,” he said.

“For us it is to play the first game against Brazil and try to overcome that and take each game as it comes. We should not be thinking of winning a medal just yet. I think our first task must just be to qualify out of the group stages,” he explained.

“We are focusing on enjoying ourselves. We keep the ball‚ we don’t sit back‚ we don’t respect our opponents. We really go at them and have fun and things have been working out for us.”
