Irvin Khoza has confirmed that Panyaza Lesufi has officially withdrawn his consortium’s offer to buy Free State Stars.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) chairman added that Stars had also taken their franchise off the market for the 2016/17 season.

Lesufi wrote a letter to the PSL on Thursday withdrawing the offer, though he did also indicate that his consortium still wants to make another offer in the future.

Lesufi’s consortium’s intention was to buy the Free State Stars franchise and bring Moroka Swallows back into the Absa Premiership, but the sale was not able to go through, because it did not adhere to the PSL’s regulations.
