Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes winning the league title has helped to keep the team motivated in the Caf Champions League.

Sundowns were dumped out of the Caf Champions league when they lost in the tournament’s preliminary stages.

They were relegated to the Caf Confederation Cup and failed to keep their place in the continental competition.

The Brazilians then reinstated into the Caf Champions League competition and now Mosimane’s men have won all three game in Group B as they lead the group with six points.

The Brazilians need one point from the remaining two games to secure a semi-final berth.

“I guess we’re riding on the momentum of the league,” said Mosimane. “We’re just flowing with what happened.

“I think after the Jomo Cosmos and Polokwane City games we went to Ajax Cape Town, which was very tough for us and it didn’t look good – we settled for a point.

“Since then we haven’t stopped, even after Tuks, the league was wrapped up, but we kept going. We went to Wits and kept on with the momentum.

“We are just in that beautiful whirlpool, where we just keep going. It’s a very good dream and I hope we don’t wake up. Let’s keep dreaming.”
