A 50-year old woman who slipped and broke her ankle in the Trichardtsdal area in Limpopo has been rescued after three days.
A resident of Matloulela Village, Martha Thobejane, said while on a trip to the mountains of the Lekgalametse Nature Reserve to cut grass, the victim slipped and broke her ankle on Saturday, Letaba Herald reported.
Members of the Search and Rescue Unit, K 9 and EMS from Makhado and Giyani reached the area early Tuesday morning and succeeded in bringing the woman to safety.
It was not easy and it took them the whole day to do so. Sometimes the terrain was so difficult that they had to take turns in carrying the woman on their backs.
She was taken to the Dr CN Phatudi Hospital in a satisfactory condition.
