Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he is not surprised by Al Ahly’s interest in Khama Billiat.

It is reported that Al Ahly has contacted Sundowns about the availability of the Zimbabwean international following his good performances in the Caf Champions League.

The Egyptian giants watched the Brazilians slay their neighbours Zamalek in Cairo last week in a Group B match, with Billiat contributing a goal in the match.

“It is a good story, it is a good story…like what happened with Bongani (Zungu), it is a good story,” said Mosimane.

“If you play at the highest level and you perform there is always interest, it is normal. I like it when there is interest from different clubs in my players, it means that we have the right type of players. Imagine if you have a player that nobody wants? I look on the positive side of things.

“I’ve played football in Europe, why can’t these boys go and play in Europe? When there is no move to Europe they must play at the highest level in their country, or on the continent.”
