Not his brother’s keeper – as he hands him over to police

A younger brother gets his older brother arrested over a stolen gun.

A 36-year-old man was arrested after his brother called the police on him over a firearm he stole, Krugersdorp News reports.

The suspect allegedly took his brother’s firearm from underneath the pillow on which his brother slept, without his permission. He then went partying at a local tavern where he got the shock of his life – he was robbed of the gun that he’d stolen.

The suspect told his brother about the incident, not thinking that his own brother would go to the police station and hand him over. The suspect was arrested and appeared in court where he was remanded pending a formal bail application and further investigations.

Kagiso Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya urges the community to report unlicensed firearms to Crime Stop on 08600 10111 in an effort to rid the country of gun violence.
