Two murderers escaped while being transferred from the holding cells at the Middelburg Magistrates’ Court to the police cells.

Convicted murderers Linda Michael Cele and Sibusiso Nicholas Ngcane made the escape after receiving 20 years behind bars each for a series of violent crimes including armed robbery committed in 2013, Middelburg Observer reports.

After sentencing the men were supposed to be transferred to Nelspruit, where they were to appear with four other suspects on charges of armed robbery and murder in connection with a robbery at Disco Liquor Distributors in December 2013.

According to a reliable source, the men managed to escape by running away, jumping on a car and climbing a brick wall whilst they were being loaded into the back of a truck that were to transport them back to their cells.

At the time of their escape, one of the men was wearing a brown jersey and the other a blue top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is requested to phone the Middelburg police head of detectives Colonel Phela Mahlangu on 076 942 5455.
