Paramedics found the two buses, with the roof of one completely ripped off, in the middle of the road.

A collision on the M25 and North Coast Road intersection in Redhill, KwaZulu-Natal, left about 40 people injured on Monday morning after a collision between two buses, ER24 said.

Paramedics and numerous other emergency services arrived on the scene and found the two buses in the middle of the road, said ER24 spokesperson  Russel Meiring.

One of the buses had its roof completely ripped off in the collision.

“On assessment, paramedics found that at least 30 to 40 people had been injured in this collision. Most of the patients were found walking around on the scene or seated next to the vehicles,” said Meiring.

Paramedics treated injured passengers before taking them to hospital.

“The exact number of patients is not yet known due to the number of services on scene. Traffic is heavily affected in the area due to the collision.”
